Demand and prices for emeralds have remained strong over the spring period with significant renewed interest from China and other Asian markets. Several dealers at the spring Hong Kong show reported a strong demand for emeralds, more so than for other stones. This is welcome news after the prior show in Hong Kong was seen as disappointing compared with demand seen in recent years.
